We got off to a flying start last week with Faraway Files. Clare, Erin and I are so chuffed at all the participation and support. As always it has been a real eye opener reading about our amazing world through the eyes of talented writers.
Here are some of my favourite posts from last week. I chose them for very different reasons but somehow they all brought to life a destination that I may not have considered visiting.
Ahila’s photos and description of her experience in almost mythical Shangri-La transported me to beautiful Yunnan Province in China. I loved the colourful prayer flags that are the bearers of goodwill and compassion as they catch the breeze.
Some readers might know my brother and his family live in Tanzania. My nephew is obsessed with animals, especially African ones. So when I read Wandermust Family’s account of their swamp walk in Uganda I could just imagine him beaming from ear to ear looking for the primates in the jungle.
Lastly, I can never get enough of the incredible landscapes you find in the United States. Maine’s Acadia National Park is now on my must visit list for the next time we head to the States thanks to Corey’s fantastic post and pictures showing its shimmering lakes and expansive forests.
This week Clare from Suitcases and Sandcastles hosts the link up so head over to her Faraway Files post to add or read travel stories from around the world in the Faraway Files. I’ve added my latest post on a recent tour of London’s street art scene where I learnt about an artist’s ingenious transformation of used chewing gum.
Looking forward to reading and sharing more wonderful posts this week. The weather has definitely turned and I have had to pull my coat out of hiding. There is no better time to pull on your warm socks and plan some new adventures.
About Faraway Files
Files is a weekly file of the best travel ideas on the web. We want to dream of faraway places, make new travel plans and share our travel secrets. Inspire us to travel to new places or revisit a place we thought we knew. We know that you can feel faraway even when you’re close to home so share your experiences of travels near and far wherever you are in the world.
We’d love you to join us in building a supportive community who will inspire and share each other’s posts. All three hosts will try to read and comment on every post and we’ll share them on social media too. Each week we’ll choose our favourites and highlight them on our blogs and social media channels using #FarawayFiles.
How it works
✪ This week Clare from Suitcases and Sandcastles hosts the link up so head over to her Faraway Files post to join in. Link up one travel-related post and add the Faraway Files badge available on Suitcases and Sandcastles to your blog or link back to the hosts.
✪ Link ups work best if everyone shares so please comment on all three of the hosts’ posts and at least one other.
