Faraway Files #25

A break (of sorts)

Somehow this trip has crept up on us. It’s our major trip for the year and I’m not yet packed. This is highly unusual for me – I am an over thinker and over packer! We are headed.. guess where? To Italy! This time we are going to the south starting in Sicily and working up the coast to Amalfi and Sorrento.

Along the way, we are spending Easter with my husband’s extended family in Calabria which is sure to be a very happy time with (most likely) way too much food. Stay tuned on Instagram where I’ll be updating my Stories feed.

Faraway Files is also having a break for 2 weeks while we spend some time with our families. Whether you celebrate a traditional Easter or the festival of chocolate, enjoy this spring holiday. We are looking forward to hearing your Easter adventures when we return on 27th April.

Thanks to all the wonderful posts from last week’s Faraway Files we have even more inspiration to draw on. My favourites from last week:

Hilary’s passion for her hometown and its street art culture is infectious. I just loved her graffiti mural walking tour post and the tour is down on my list of things to do in LA.

Cuba is one of the top destinations to visit in 2017. I enjoyed Wilbur’s photos and observations of ordinary people going about their lives in this fascinating country.

Anne took on a physical challenge and won when she climbed Mount Kinabalu in Borneo. I think I might put that on my list too!

Changing of the Guard Ceremony London

My post this week got a bit out of control when I was writing it. I became a bit obsessed with including every last detail I thought would help visitors to the UK looking for a classic London experience. So without any further ado here’s my classic itinerary for 3 days in London.

About Faraway Files

Faraway Files is a weekly travel link up hosted by Katy from Untold Morsels, Erin from Oregon Girl around the World and Clare from Suitcases and Sandcastles.

Faraway Files is a weekly file of the best travel ideas on the web. We want to dream of faraway places, make new travel plans and share our travel secrets. Inspire us to travel to new places or revisit a place we thought we knew. We know that you can feel faraway even when you’re close to home so share your experiences of travels near and far wherever you are in the world.

We’d love you to join us in building a supportive community who will inspire and share each other’s posts. All three hosts will try to read and comment on every post and we’ll share them on social media too. Each week we’ll choose our favourites and highlight them on our blogs and social media channels using #FarawayFiles.

How it works

✪ The link up will go live every Thursday at 8am, UK time, until midnight on Friday. It will alternate between Untold Morsels, Suitcases and Sandcastles and Oregon Girl Around the World.

✪ This week Clare from Suitcases and Sandcastles hosts the link up so head over to her Faraway Files post to join in. Link up one travel-related post and add the Faraway Files badge available on Suitcases and Sandcastles to your blog or link back to the hosts.

✪ Link ups work best if everyone shares so please comment on all three of the hosts’ posts and at least one other.

✪ Tweet us your posts (@suitandsand, @UntoldMorsels, @oregongirlworld) using the hashtag #FarawayFiles and we’ll retweet to our followers
