Last week I posted a review of Paprika recipe manager app. As far as apps go it is certainly one of the more expensive on the market – although I think worth every cent. If you are being conscious of how much you are spending online.. and it does add up.. app by app, ebook by ebook! .. there are services that can help you identify when developers or the AppStore reduce their prices.

The service I use is called AppShopper. It is a free app that helps you keep tabs on availability and pricing for iPhone, iPad and Mac apps in the app store. You can create alerts on your wishlist of apps and AppShopper will let you know if there has been a price drop so you can snap up a bargain.

AppBrain is a similar service for Android.

Apps can go on sale at any time however do look out for sales around major holidays in the US – Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Black Friday etc. Happy app shopping!
