Favourite travel blogs
Whether I am planning a specific trip or simply looking for inspiration for our holidays, I have a few favourite travel blogs I return to. I recommend these blogs for their writing and detailed information that will help you plan your next trip.
One of the longest running travel blogs, Dave’s Travel Corner has shared travel experiences from wine tours to trekking since 1996.
Family travel blogs
Suitcases and Sandcastles – travel journalist Clare explores unique family holiday destinations in the UK and Europe with a historical and cultural focus.
Adventure meets romance on Two Drifters – a travel blog focused on traveling with your loved one at home and abroad
Oregon Girl Around the World – American expat Erin lives with her family in Copenhagen and tells the most beautiful stories of her adventures in Scandinavia and beyond. Her photography is poignant and capture moments in the most subtle way.
Global Locavore – with a passion for local food and sustainable food production practices, Lauren’s blog is my go to resource for foodie travel experiences.
Over at Soul Travel Blog Ellie shows us how to take a more thoughtful approach to travel. I love her non-judgemental way of explaining how we can be better global citizens as we visit new destinations.
Nature and wildlife
Waking up Wild – discover inspirational stories and destination information about the natural wonders of the world from award winning bloggers Megan and Michael Jerrard.
Everything Everywhere – self-taught travel photographer Gary Arndt produces amazing images of special people and places from the four corners of the world.
Travel Blogging Community
Inspired by travel blogging talent from all over the globe I have joined forces with two of the bloggers whose work I respect the most to create weekly blog link up – Faraway Files. Here we encourage bloggers to join us and share their favourite travel experiences and best writing.
In between trips I am always looking for inspiration and fuel my wanderlust by reading. Check out this list of top 200 travel books on the Nomadic Notes blog and 45 of the best travel books to inspire wanderlust and travel ideas.
