I quite like travelling by bus in London. Sure it’s not the fastest way to get around but as you meander around the streets of this grand old town in the iconic double deckers you come to understand the geography and layout of each neighbourhood. Be warned though,  travelling by tube exclusively will mess with your mind and you may even make the classic tourist mistake of catching the tube between Leicester Square and Covent Garden. [Tip – you can walk between the stations in around 2 minutes.]

Unfortunately today’s bus trip was not in the slightest scenic due to today’s murky drizzle so I spent some time satisfying my wanderlust by scrolling my favourite Instagram feeds for travel inspiration.

Global

If you grew up with the iconic National Geographic magazines taking up a lot of bookshelf space in your family home, you’ll expect nothing less than their awe-inspiring feed on Instagram.

Italy

Bella Italia, gorgeous images of architecture, places, people and of course food curated in this wonderful feed by @whatitalyis

South East Asia

If your wanderlust is inspired by South East Asia check out @sarah_nico‘s feed. An Australian travel journalist, Sarah captures the colourful people, places and iconic images of this region and beyond.

Family travel

Yes we travel with our kids but the destinations we choose are pretty safe as they are only 2! Here are some families who are a little more adventurous.

Eric Stoen’s tribe of 3 kids has already visited 32 countries and the eldest is just 10! Follow their journey at @travelbabbo

Australia

Look no further than Tourism Australia’s feed for the sheer diversity of experience that is my homeland. Lots of images of cute native animals too.

Lastly, if I am feeling a little homesick I look no further than the feed of my friend and former colleague @kelliejane. Kellie’s beautiful images of the Australian coastline and outback remind me that those ancient landscapes are not going anywhere soon and are waiting for me to return.
